At the halfway point in our three-year fund raising campaign, members of St. John’s UCC have held monthly activities over the winter like our Dining to Donate program and devoting all memorial donations to bolster our campaign efforts. Currently, we have made over $4,000 in repairs and improvements to the church including recently the repair of the French drain at the front of our church. This combined with nearly $38,000 in the current Capital Building Fund balance totals more than $42,000 in funding towards this effort.
You have been a large part of that success. Member contributions continue to be the primary source of funding. Additionally, over $700 was made last year in the Dining to Donate effort, and special thanks go out to friends of the church like Boy Scout Troop 251, whose generosity towards this campaign has made St. John’s proud to be a home to this and more than a half a dozen other groups from the community.
As the Campaign Committee ramps up for 2016 activities, watch for future announcements on spring and summer fundraisers. Tentative plans include a pre-church service breakfast in May, a bowling fundraiser in June, a Pirate game fundraiser in July and another summer picnic for August. Pledge today to include St. John’s Capital Building Fund in your contribution plans for 2016 and plan to join us for our fundraising activities throughout the year. Check our website regularly for updates and sign up for auto-notification e-mails to keep in the know.
Thank you and may God bless you all.
